Success Story

The children that I taught this year came to the Early Intervention Program (EIP) second grade class with IRLs of either preprimer or kindergarten level. I taught two “Sarah” reading groups, one group started on Level E(first preprimer) and another group started on Level H (third preprimer). They reached Levels 7 (middle of second grade) and 9 (beginning of third grade) by the end of the year. Today, I know that 7 of my 10 children can read the 2nd grade basal reader with success.

Success Story

When I began working at my new school in January, I was given the task of teaching “Read with Sarah” in small groups. I could not believe the progress I was making with the students I was working with. At first, students would struggle with words but as they went through the books, they became more confident and fluent in their reading. Most of my groups, from January through May, increased by four levels. My students were in a routine and I would often find them doing their silent reading without my prompting when class started. I love your program!!!

Success Story

I teach in an alternative school. My class is small, but it is 100% special education students. In just one month from February to March the average gain in reading was more than 7 ½ months. “Read with Sarah” gives me a structure to work with. My students love the high interest books, and their success proves the program works.
