Having grown up near the beautiful Ocmulgee Indian Mounds, taken many field trips there as both a student and teacher, and enjoyed these lands through the eyes of her child and grandchildren, Dr. Sarah is thrilled with this announcement:
“Working collaboratively with elected officials at all levels of government, and in consultation with the Creek Nation, the Ocmulgee National Park & Preserve Initiative (ONPPI) seeks to re-designate the monument as the Ocmulgee National Historical Park and expand Ocmulgee’s current boundaries from 702 acres to approximately 2,800 acres.”
